Online Application

I am going to jump on a soapbox here for a second and rant about this new discovery.

I have been wanting to be able to do this myself and make it look good. I saw several sites selling a pre-built 1003 for 100's or thousands of dollars with monthly re-occurring fees.

So about 6 months ago I purchased an SSL certificate knowing that I was going to have one sometime soon and build it myself. Well, my host allows you to make a contact form with custom fields and it emails you the data. It has been ok but 3 days ago I decided to look at my stats real hard and see what was going on.

I tracked back 2 months through every hit at my online app url. I narrowed it down to visitors that looked at real information on my site such as pages covering information about mortgages BEFORE they went to my application page. Some of these users were spending hours flipping and apparently reading.

Then they click the online application and it looked like this: https://www.businesswithgreg.com/applyonline.html

Now I knew it was total chaos and unprofessional looking but I did actually get 12 applications in those 2 months.

The sad thing is the total visitors who actually clicked the page and were not the same ip was a whopping 79!!!

They were exiting and it was that page design IMO agree?

So, I about lost it when I saw the stat. So I say oh this page needs to get a makeover and I really did not want the expense I spoke of in the beginning of this post.

I found www.formfields.com after starting 1 or 2 projects that ended up being great eye candy but I could not get the data to email correctly. I created an application then they dropped the "you have to pay money to make it functional" bomb.

Get this 30 bucks! 1 time.

I can edit this anyway I want and it works amazing.

Here is the new page. 1st design. I will keep tweaking it but geesh it is so much better.

https://www.businesswithgreg.com/secure_online_mortgage_application.php

And get this. It emails you. It emails your customer. They can upload documents. It is so customizable. Sorry but I was excited. It was like the best thing and it took me 2 hours tops.

It is all divided pretty when it comes to your email and the attachments save on your host server. It has a link to it so you can download it from the net.

But, this template has came up missing fields a couple times so let me know if that happens to you. I might need to switch it back the the first one I was using.

Erik has a spectacular aura about
Nice - the new version looks much better. Can't wait to see the follow up in a couple months on how the updated version converts leads compared to the old one.
