Have you considered online marketing? The internet is great for delivering timely, changing information. It lets you attract attention from the RIGHT kinds of people — in this case people with ARMs that will soon convert. Think about it… who would you rather spend your time and energy on? People who've gone online to actively look into refinancing, or people you're contacting out of the blue because you found their information at the courthouse? Which one is further down the sales process?
In case you're not familiar with how Search Engine Marketing (SEM) works, here are the basic two approaches (assuming you have a website, these are strategies you can put to use now).
First, there's
Search Engine Optimization. Search engines want to provide people with the best possible matches to their search. Getting them to consider your pages good matches is called search engine optimization — or Search Engine Optimization for short. The best way to optimize your website is by making your pages relevant.
How do you make your pages relevant? There are many strategies, and they all involve a little time on your part. In a nutshell the three most important are:
1. Have good, relevant content that targets the keywords people are using to search for your service. Remember, Google likes content that people actually would find useful.
2. Links. When someone links to your site, they’re giving it a vote of confidence. It's like getting a third-party to vouch for your credibility. The more links that point to your website, the more likely it is to get a high rank.
3. Accessibility. Are your most helpful tips and guides buried in some obscure corner of your website? If so, dust it off and move it closer to the front of your site. Your content should be easy to find. If possible, link to it from your homepage.
The other approach is
Pay-Per-Click advertising, or PPC. You bid on the keywords you want and when someone types those words into the search engine, your ad is shown. The person clicks on your ad and is directed to a page that specifically references that offer (it's called a landing page).
PPC works really well for some people, but spending can get out of hand fast if you're not careful.
Keep in mind this is advice from an online marketer. Maybe direct mail and cold calling is a better approach for you. But in my opinion, the sooner you get your feet wet with online marketing the better prepared you'll be to target and profit from new markets as they hatch.
