These ideas are exactly what I am talking about. Step out of the box and you will make money. Obviously you have to be good at sales and know what the heck your doing ... but if you can get a target market calling you .... the hard part is over. Now all you have to do is qualify them and close them.

Again, good idea.

Correction

That first line is supposed to read " ...move into a new HOUSE" not kitchen. Don't know how that happened!

Oh, and by the way it's ALWAYS good to get someone else to proofread your work before you send it out.

Another tip is to HAND WRITE and stamp your mailings. I know it's time consuming, but if you send your mailings out in envelopes that are typed with those boring headlines, people will throw them away. I throw them out all the time.

But I open mail that looks like a personal letter/card to me. It shows that people put their time and effort to sit down and handwrite the envelope and stamp it as opposed to getting a bulk mailing and sending it through a postage machine!

the hand written thing is a good idea. But it was thought up about a jillion years ago. Its so time consuming that its worth getting a 'hand written' type to print out on the computer instead.

I do admire you guys 'thinking outside the box' . Thats cool.

cheers

I hand write my letters out. Actually I pay someone to do that for me. Although it would be easier with a hand writen type on you pc... its just not the same. Hand writing in black or blue ink is not going to look real enough when its printed frok your pc anyways. I will do the hand writen thing any day of the week. The stamp idea too. I have been doing it that way for many years , I will not change. Besides the person writing these out for me has nice handwriting ..... I am sure your PC has too. LOL

Dont get me wrong , different strokes for different folk

Hi mark

You would be surprised how realistic it can look. You would actually have to be LOOKING for it to tell the diff. On the face of it, it looks hand written to the casual observer, which of course homeonwer are.

You should check it out . It could save you a pile of money.

Handwritten is definitely the way to go... and if there's a font/printer duo that can make it appear handwritten well enough then that would be fantastic.

Can you let us know which font you have found that works well, Florida Man? It would be worth looking into for many, I'm sure.

The thing is that I can almost always tell when I get direct mail that has been printed in a manuscript font. If I'm not exactly sure I do the rub test, which is just getting the ink a tad wet and rubbing to see if it smears. Smear = authentic, no smear = fake.

I have always been able to tell that its ink or not. Thanks Florida man. I will have to look into it. I dont send that many out ....... most of mine are targeted mailers and I send a couple hundred a week at most. I get a huge response and if I got into the mass mailers and able to use your signature print and it looks good then I will have to upstaff and I have no problem doing that.

guys
again, of course you can tell. However, I myself have had to look 3 times at a couple of them because they were so good. I believe truely that homeowners who are not in this industry or mail advertising in general are not going to look hard enough to tell -if its done well enough . I think its well worth all the time it takes to hand write them all.

Besides, i just got suckered today in the mail by the best trick of all.

I got a letter post marked from

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE
RECORDS DIVISION

this was on the return spot. It also said 'do not bend' slightly sideways in red ink.

Of course thinking it was from the county , or the state regarding my licence or whatnot, i immediatly opened it. Who wouldnt?

well..............

it was from the administrative office records division of.......................

CARNIVAL RESORTS ..........i guess they had me on their 'official homeowners record' or some flimsy exuse.

I nearly soiled myself i was laughing so hard. I looked again at the label and no it says nothing about being from the state or anything else.

p.s.

It also said 'personal and confidential' on it. Now -almost EVERYONE is gunna open that envelope. LOL

Im going to try it.

I know the handwritten type on the computer is more efficient but people can tell that it's the computer still. The authentic handwritten notes are always the ones that have brought in money to my nonprofit. Also, around Christmas time, another cool trick is to hand deliver pointsettas to your customers that have made you the most money...just pop up over there houses, don't call and tell them that you just wanted to thank them for being such good customers.

Mark, you pay someone to hand write your notes?? How much do you pay?? That's a good side hustle, ROFL! I should do that in my spare time and make some extra spending cash, lol.
