A joint letter from 10 housing groups is calling on the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to scraps its proposed changes to the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act. In its current form, HUD's proposal would likely double the cost of systems' conversions, training and staffing, the groups claim. In addition, it will increase borrower confusion.
