Option ARMs Drive Record Alt-A Deals

Issuance of Alt-A residential mortgage-backed securities was $101 billion during the second quarter, Standard & Poor's announced Tuesday. The latest activity was higher than the first quarter and more than the comparable period a year earlier. Option ARMs and interest-only products represented the majority of the latest quarter's volume.
