Mortgage Market Conditions Deteriorate

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.49% this week, climbing from a week ago to the highest level since July 12, 2002. Mortgage loan application volume decreased from the prior week, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association's application survey.
