Jobs, Volume to Worsen Before Recovery

BOSTON -- Mortgage-related job losses will total as many as 110,000 as a result of the deep housing recession, according to one speaker at the annual Mortgage Bankers Association conference in Boston. The group's economist projects next year's originations will be just half the level of the peak reached in 2003. Projections for a recovery ranged from one year to five years out.
