Home Equity Abs Activity Worsens

Asset-backed securities downgrades were up 17 percent during the first quarter, Moody's Investors Service reported Monday. Poor collateral performance was among the factors driving the downgrades. Home equity securities represented more than 80 percent of downgraded transactions, the report said.
