A three-part plan has been developed to address the loss of investor confidence in the two secondary lenders, the U.S. Treasury Secretary said in a statement Sunday. The credit lines of the government-sponsored enterprises has been temporarily increased. The second part of the plan calls for the Treasury to be able to acquire an equity interest in either company. The third part of the plan give the Federal Reserve a consultative role in the new GSE regulator's process.
