Fannie Forecasts Falling Fixed Rates

The 30 year fixed rate mortgage averaged 6.16 percent, Freddie Mac's latest Primary Mortgage Market Survey indicated. The 30 year climbed from the prior week, according to the survey. Fannie Mae's latest forecast has the 30 year averaging 6.23 percent this quarter then dipping to 6.15 percent by the second quarter and remaining there for the rest of the year.
