I bet many of us just getting started with kids got hammered for that big paycheck then came in lower than EIC in the first year or 2.

I do taxes and saw a person with 2 children get 7000 back with a 31k total income. Schedule C brought the AGI down to 4k due to a 1099 business and mortgage interest.

The moral of the story lol is they got money from the goverment because only 2600 was paid to the IRS that year! Wow! Talk about over 1 million people doing that and you have a huge deficit!
