30-Year Freezes, ARMs Up

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.24 percent, Freddie Mac said its latest survey of 125 mortgage-lending thrifts, commercial banks and thrifts showed. The 30-year was unchanged from a week earlier and from the same week in 2006. For the week ending Nov. 9, the ARM share of total mortgage application activity increased to nearly 16%, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association's latest application survey.
