Post The Positive Side of Life

...is meeting what I hope, will be a new set of friends. I am a Florida mortgage broker who looks forward to friendship, advice, and possibly some mortgage deals which will benefit each new "partner" in completed transactions. Well, we can hope, can't we? I have been married for more years than I care to admit to a very patient spouse, who goes along with most of my ideas. well, sorta, most of the time I "pester" the editors and reporters of the Florida-Times Union Newspaper, who have shown themselves to be receptive to my observations, even thought I suspect they rarely agree with them. With that observation revealed, the editors/reporters helped me to refine my researching and writing skills.

I am currently trying to improve my skills at finding clients who need mortgage help. I utilized my client finding skills when I played music professionally. So far, building a client list for mortgage brokering has been a different and not very successful type of marketing for me. Musicians do not subscribe to lead generation organizations. They network and sometimes give demonstrations for groups. It seems to work quite well in the music industry. I know everyone reading this is skilled at finding people. If you are here, you were smart enough to find this site and realize how kind MortgageBrokerLand is to allow us to network. Networking is one of the most positive actions all of us can make. A curtsy to all of you reading this.

Erik has a spectacular aura about
With an intro like that it's easy to see you'll be a great addition to the MBL community... welcome! I'm sorry to hear the marketing aspect isn't going too well but I bet you'll eventually decide that finding clients as a musician probably isn't too different from finding clients as a loan officer - people are people everywhere. Networking and providing demonstrations for groups are definitely two things that can help you find clients, so you're off to a good start.

What sort of clients are you trying to attract, if you don't mind me asking?

Gordon Lending will become famous soon enough
Hey Guru,
Welcome aboard and I agree with Erik, Great Intro. You will do well and go far with your positive attitude. If you can persevere through these tough times than you will be just fine. If I can ever be of some help with any subprime loans you may have please let me know. I am a national account executive and just happen to handle FLA as well. Look forward to hearing from you and your great adventures in the mortgage industry. Good luck in this and your music as well.
Jim

Smile Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words, Erik and Jim! I suspect I am like everyone else posting to the board and am looking for the elusive borrower who wants either a hard money or commercial loan. I have been talking with some friends who have a gift for words. They seem to be of the opinion buyers do not understand the buying process. This opinion appears somewhat unbelievable at first, until you realize somewhere along the line the sellers representative, forgot to point out to the buyer that a house is like a very spoiled child and needs a constant infusion of operating money. "Operating expense, what's that?!?!" cries a renter when buying their first home, "I thought the landlord takes care of that!" exclaims the new home buyers who have yet to realize they are the lords and maintenance crew of their new castle. I get more than a little tired of people playing the "blame game" and forgetting to inform the BUYER of BASIC costs. This observation covers all real estate industries......................
