Hello from Colorado

My first post here! Wow!

I'm a fairly new loan officer in Colorado Springs always on the look out for tips and tricks from the pros. I am also always looking for new marketing ideas anyone has had success with.
I'm willing to share what little I know, but mainly I will ask questions and absorb from more experienced members.
I guess that makes me more of a "Taker" than a "Giver".

Welcome, Ted! Your first post of many, I'm sure

What do you do for marketing right now? I got started marketing to fsbos, personally. Shameless plug: one of my for-profit sites is built around for sale by owner marketing so I naturally tend to gravitate toward that niche.

At any rate, lurking and posting questions is a great way to get information - nothing wrong with that at all.

My marketiing so far has been minimal. I work with 2 real estate agents that have given me enough business to stay afloat, but I'm ready to grow.

Here's what I have underway-
  • 2 websites. 1 generic (encompass) and 1 custom
  • 2 more domain names reserved. 1 for fsbo 1 for new construction
  • 2 subdomains under construction
  • 4 blogs. I try to update at least 1 every day
  • email campaign to previous and potential customers (still a small number)

Also, I just started this- when one of my RE agents has a prospective buyer, I create a custom flyer and webpage with financing options (0% down, 20% down, fixed, 3/1 ARM, etc.) I pick 3 or 4 options. The webpage matches the flyer, but I can update the webpage to change programs, sales price, etc. in about 5 minutes. The webpage is sent to the buyer as a link in an email from the RE agent and it has links back to my site, including an online application.

I've only done 1 so far, but I think it appears very professional and customer service oriented.

So, I'm trying to focus on the younger, internet user crowd. Give them several options to hook them, then reel them in.

Doesn't sound like you're all that new at all, Ted. Those are some great things you've got going. Blogs are great especially for LOs who may not be as net saavy. Are you using free blogspot accounts for each of them?

I really like your custom flyer idea - I used to do that as a door opener with agents.

I have 3 blogspot blogs and 1 b2evo blog on my own site. I use Feeddigest as an aggregator to publish headlines plus 200 characters to my website. That way my site has changing, updating content every day.

Ted do you have software that not only shows the # of hits but breaks it down by which day so you can track what content drove more traffic to the site?

I use www.statcounter.com for stats on my blogs. My website through www.micfo.com offers all kinds of stats by day, page, referring links etc.

Good deal. That is very interesting to look at I bet.

Mine just shows total number of hits. I wish it broke it down in that much detail.
