User Reputation

I want to learn more about this feature. I voted on one of Eriks posts already then tried to do it again in another topic and it said I need to spread reputation to others first before giving it to Erik again.

Yeah I think it's made that way so you can't just overload someone's rep. Makes sense. By the way, I think it counts as more than a regular user when you give reputation because you are a moderator (and takes more away when you give negative rep).

Ok here is some detail on what we are talking about. See the green square under your name? Well as you become more reputable to the forum those squares will grow. Not 1 bigger green square but multiple squares.

When you see a post and like the content or just like the user you click the scale icon withing their post and add to or take away rep points.

Moderators and Admins start at the same place you do so you can boost our rep too.

When you want to check your rep drag your mouse over the square and it will tell you. For more detail click User CP and it will show member comments as well and a score.

Erick can you add more detail to this as far as when you get more squares?

Try to give rep points when it is due. When you like a post. When someone helps you.

You know I'm not sure when you get another square... but my guess is when you get 100 points. Everyone starts out with 10, and your rep giving efforts don't count until you have at least 25 posts. Also, there are levels you can hit that increases your rep weight. For every 1,000 posts you have, you gain 1 point of reputation power. There are a few other variables like that, but I don't recall them right now.

Well I will just keep doing what I am doing and I am sure something good will happen to my squares.

But why not stars or circles instead of squares.

Joking!!!! haha

Ok I am not going to ask about myself but let's boost Eriks rep up guys. Everyone add rep to him.

After all he is the creator and that requires a lot of work outside of posting.
