Los Angeles getting a football team?

Could LA be getting a football team again?

City of Industry and recently Diamond Bar city council approved the $800 million proposal for a football stadium in the city of Industry. Majestic Real Estate said they would begin approaching possible football franchises as early as May.

At least eight franchises, including the Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings, have been identified as possible targets for relocation.

That would be crazy if the Bills or the Vikings moved.

Looks like it took another step forward. The Govenator signed a bill the bypass an environmental lawsuit. Looks like they are greasing the wheels to make it happen.

Schwarzenegger said he hoped the developer Majestic Realty doesn’t poach any California teams to play in the proposed venue.

It is likely that they will add an expansion team in this stadium and not lure another team out of their current city. That is the NFL buzz.

The raiders, Love them, need a new home bad. They need to be re-branded and start all over. The team has fallen into a hole as of late.

So far seems to be moving forward. The city of Walnut settled their law suit and the environmental review was overrided by the Governator. Looks like the economy is helping to move the project along. The state needs sales tax revenue and jobs so I think this is going to help.

Definitely looks like its movig forward. Looks like they are going to poach an existing team so no expansion team which I think is right move. However, rather than trying to woo a team they are now saying the developer is simply going to buy a team and bring them here. lol. It must be nice to have tons of cash.

He says they may play at Rose Bowl while the new stadium is being built. Anyway here is a link to an interview where a spokesperson from the stadium calls out a few teams.
