How will WWIII affect rates?

Yea catchy title huh? How do you guys think rates will be affected by this whole Israel Lebananon (yea I cant spell) situation? And did everyone hear about how Iran threatened Israel if they attacked Syria. How will the U.S. react if Iran attacked Israel? And what would happen to our troops in Iraq if we went to war with Iran? So many different outcomes to all of this, not many lookin good.

Yeah... pretty alarming situation over there right now. I can't help wondering what China and Russia would do if Syria and Iran join the fighting. With those two big boys involved, which I think would probably happen, it becomes a whole different ballgame.

I think they're a little too involved with the Korean situation than that right now. Like I said World War 3.

A mess, you bet. If America prosecuted this war like it did to Japan (even before the 2 big bombs) - it would be over this week-end.

Not suggesting nukes, the USA bombed the 67 of the largest cities in Japan and killed 75% of the citizens, which is what brought that government to it's knees in 1945, the nukes were just the topping on the cake, not actually necessary as I remember.

Conventional weapons could take out any of this little thug countries easily.

My take on it is a little different.

Countries dont go off half baked into some kind of escalating world problem. We went thru this in the Great War, then WW2. Big powers are already behind the scenes working it all out as we speak.

Its kind of like watching your children get into a scrap on the play ground, letting them duke it out until enough is enough.

North Korea is broke, and their 'in your face' approach to their motley nuke program is a novel attempt to force world power aid in exchange for the program.

Iran is whining because it knows the US is tied up with Iraq and we as the general public will bawk at further war by attacking Iran. Its not like the US is the only country that has something to lose by these back azz countries developing nukes. Euro, Russia and China are also on top of it but currently Russia and China are keeping to a set rhetoric . They have economic reasons to hang the US out to dry on the issue so far.

In the end, its a situation that may or may not bring about a wholesale change in the middle east, but probably not. What else is new?
