Ameriquest only shut down their branch offices. Not their retail business.
Their press release stated that they now have "centralized" retail call centers to handle originations in light of the all the local branches closing. I forget how many "call centers" there are in the country. You know they're not stupid enough to walk away from all their past marketing efforts and the extensive client database --regardless of how they look in the press. Besides, most people are clueless as to the day-to-day goings-on in the mortgage business. Even if it involved massive fraud.
They got the DOUGH now to increase their marketing efforts because of all the "savings" of closing branches and letting people go. And, what happens to all those unpaid commissions on loans yet to close when they shut down? Anybody know?

Kinda like the QMAR.com thing?

Again, I haven't heard anything regarding that.
