Lawyers becoming, Net Branches.
I have had seen a trend lately towards lawyers becoming Net Branches.
While many may decide to give up their law practice others may to limit their practice to certain kinds of cases. I have also heard some lawyers acting as both a broker and a lawyer for the same client.
A net branch might appeal to some lawyers because they have been self-employed for so many years, working as a loan officer under the direction of someone just might not feel right.
Some lawyers elect to go the Net Branch route because they see the value in a large lender list.
Lender packages are time consuming to fill out much less read. Many brokers will fill out the lender package without ever reading it. Lawyers on the hand understand the document must be read and it is going to take them time to read it.
Lawyers seem to understand the value of service better than the general population. Many lawyers will think about opening up their own broker shop and decide to go with a Net Branch, because they understand they will get better service from many lenders and AE’s if they are a Net Branch of a company that is sending some volume to that lender and AE.
Often timing is critical for many lawyers who open a net branch. They may have clients in need of loans soon and opening a broker shop of their own might not prove a good option. While opening up their own shop is nothing like, reinventing the wheel, the Licensing, Bonding, E&O requirements all take time.
Some lawyers could easily open their own broker shop but choose not to as they are concerned about spending time with, audits, insurance and accounting, lenders packages, ETC.
Many lawyers already have clients that need mortgages as well contacts with other lawyers. Lawyers might be less reliant on leads than a typical LO. Most Net Branches provide no leads and their fees to a loan officers are often less than a brokers fees would be partially for this reason.
Aapex Mortgage has been around since 1989
