| Did you see Amanda and I at the CAMB Expo?
I am finding out every day how different we really are!
It was great to see our old friends and make new ones at the CAMB Expo this past Saturday in San Jose. ATG had a small booth among the many show booths that included Wholesale lenders, Brokers, Credit reporting companies (and I have a great referral for you if you need one), Appraisers, LOS systems and various technology companies and much more. We were right next to BYTE Mortgage Software. If you are looking for an alternative to the big LOS systems out there, get in touch with Marcy and she'll be glad to help you. Wendy who was an underwriter we worked with in the past stopped by to say hi and catch up with us and I got to wave at Sally from CAMB who was on the phone as I passed her booth.
As I was walking the floor I came across a few other processing companies. Interestingly enough one had a huge tricked out booth taking up two spaces. Very impressive, while another was a long table containing loads of information. I have to admit I am not one to grill the competitor because although all companies offer the same service, I know we are different. Very different.
Amanda and I found out that there are companies charging ala carte pricing add ons to their rock bottom pricing! Ok, now I would never charge my broker or agent a consulting fee of $120 per hour billed in increments of 15 minutes. LOL, there is another charge for a 3rd submission (did they not pre underwrite and why are they submitting for the 3rd time? If it is for better pricing ok I understand the tag for the resub). Another goodie add on is courier and overnight fees, at least $40.
On top of the fees, there are production line style processing! Who is accountable? Who "knows" your file? I wonder where the value is. Personal service, straight up pricing, pre underwriting and experience is where ATG is and wants to remain.
I spoke to a Broker today and he is very concerned that his conditions will not be looked at, perhaps submitted to his underwriter and the deal is delayed or worse, does not close. VALID concerns. Those are also my concerns and why our processors are hand selected to do the job going over and above what the standard is in our industry.
More and more I believe in what we have to offer and why we are here.
