Erik has a spectacular aura about
Bumvertising

Ever heard of this? Companies pay homeless people to hold signs near high traffic areas on a day-to-day basis. I guess it's controversial to some, but I read an article about it several months ago where a pizza parlor in Seattle created huge buzz and brand awareness by using this method.

By chance has anyone tried mortgage marketing with the homeless? Not to sound completely insensitive, but a sign that read "Call Greg - he can help you get a better home" might be effective in this situation.

Thoughts?

I personally don't have a problem with this as long as the homeless people get paid what they are promised.

I haven't heard of this, but it's a very interesting concept.

If done right, this would be mutually beneficial and could be a form of community service that we're providing.

I can see where it might be somewhat controversial though. It would take some real thought to make sure the message isn't perceived as taking advantage of the less fortunate and doesn't reflect poorly on your company image i.e. dirty, slovenly dressed Page Ranking representative becomes the face of your company. Yet if the "opportunity" for emloyment that you open up to the homeless is what's conveyed, this could be very positive.

Maybe even add a tag a the botton of the sign stating that "$300 from every closed loan goes to support the homeless" or something.

Someone should test market this and let us know how it goes.

I like the idea of donating to charity for the homeless as part of every closing. Best, you've got a marketing plan already... I think you should test it

The benefit is great but It would not be my style. I just do not like resorting to a retail sales tactic to establish business.

Plus there are liabilty issues.

I am a professional. I would rather buy billboard space to get the same result.

I did this 5 years ago when I was involved in a MLM business. I had a bum hold a sign all day and I bought him breakfast, lunch and dinner. It worked.
